GEORGE W WOODS

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock for
George W Woods at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. D. Boyd of this city.
Mr. Woods who had been in poor health for the past three years, did suddenly
at 6:30 Saturday morning of a heart attack.
The son of the late Tom and Cynthia Woods, he was born to them March 6, 1879,
near Trigg Furnace, where he spent the greater portion of his life.
In early manhood he was united in marriage to Miss Docia Reddick to which
union four children were born. Three of these survive, Mrs. Davis Holland,
Borden, Ind. Albert woods, of Lyon county and Clarence Woods, of Trigg county.
Several years later September 13, 1913 he was married to Miss Ethel Faughn,
who survies him. There were six children born of this union, Mrs. W. D.
Boyd, city, Mrs Forest Stepehens, Mrs Dallas Tyler, Willard Woods and Robert
Woods of Trigg county and lacy Woods of Alton, Ill.
Funeral rites were conducted by Rev. Carl Noel, assisted by Rev. Wade Cunningham.
Burial was made in the Sivills grave yard near Bethesda. A. K. Goodwin
had charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers were W. D. Boyd, Dallas Tyler, Forrest Stephens, Davis Holland,
Alfred Faughn and Morris Cain.
Our of town relatives and friends attending the rites werre Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Fuller of Hopkinsville, Mr and Mrs. Davis Holland, Borden, Ind; Mr
and Mrs. Lacy Wood, Alton, Ill.
Other surviivors are nine grandchildren, 2 brothers, Sam Woods of Cadiz,
and Bill Woods of Texas and one sister, Mrs. Ira Alexander of this county.
