NORMA PORTER ALLEN
Mrs. Norma PORTER ALLEN, 75, died Thursday,August 2, at 12:25
p.m. at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She had been in declining health for a number
of years.
A Trigg County native, she was born November 3, 1903, the daughter of Oscar
and Leona Guier Mason. She was married to Fay Arthur ALLEN on June 17, 1923.
He preceded her in death on February 7, 1966.
She was a member of the Siloam United Methodist Church and
had been employed at Glenn's Store, Elk Brand Manufacturing and later as
a foster grandparent at Outwood Hospital
in Dawson Springs.
Funeral Services were conducted at Goodwin Funeral Home Saturday Aug 4, at
3:30 p.m. with the Revs. Albert P. Kraus and Marvin Denison officiating. Music
was provided by Mrs. Mae Perdue, organist. Burial was in the Siloam cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Hershel Dorris ALLEN of Shreveport, La; one sister,
Alberta Johnson of Alton, Ill; one cousin, Mrs. Raymond Hughes of Cadiz and
five grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Edward Allen, Gentry Gray, Tennie Vanzant, Floyd Cannon,Boyce
Birdsong, and Ted Futrell. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Cain, Troy Alexander,
Raymond Hughes and Raymond Fuller.
