C.B. Allen 67 Passes Away
Last Rites Held at Goodwin Funeral Home Sunday Afternoon
Carloss Blane Allen, age 67, a prominent farmer and former Trigg
County
Magistrate for 12 years passed away unexpectedly at his home on Route 4,
Cadiz
around 12:05 a.m. Saturday, November 4, following a heart attack.
Mr Allen had not been in apparent ill-health prior to his death and
had not
complained. His death came as an unexpected shock to his family and
community.
Mr Allen had been a member of the Cadiz Masonic Lodge for a number
of years.
He was a member of the Hurricane Baptist Church where he took an active-part
in
the affairs of the church and served as a Sunday School teacher.
He was born Mar 28, 1894 in the Hurricane community of this county
and was a
son of the late George and Carrie Kirby Allen. He was married April
15, 1917
to the former Miss Inez Mitchell who survives.
Other survivors in addition to his wife include a son, Noble D Allen,
Trigg
County; three daughters, Mrs D.L. "Pete" Hendricks, Detroit; Mrs Troy
Alexander, Trigg County and Mrs Edward Tyler, also of Trigg; two brothers,
H.B.
Allen, Paducah; and Bob Allen, Trigg County; eight grandchildren; two great
grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews and more distant relatives.
Funeral services were conducted at Goodwin Funeral Home Sunday, Nov
5, at
2.p.m. by his pastor, the Rev. Jackie Geurin, assisted by his former pastor,
the Rev. Keidell Thomas, Mrs Bingham Stephens, Dr. R.W. Niles, and Mrs Sammie
Bentley, organist, was in charge of the music service.
Masonic rites were conducted at the graveside in Siloam Cemetery.
Pallbearer were Plomer Clark, Willie Clark, Raymond Allen, Cecil Allen,
Chappell Allen and Dewey Allen. Honorary pallbearers were Julian Atwood,
Finas
Cherry, Emmett Brandon, Top Cunningham, Willie Wynn,Hurley Gray, Smith
Broadbent, Sr. and Raymond Alexander.
