Leonard Stringer
Susan Stringer Bennett's father was a Revolutionary War Soldier. Leonard Stringer was born 1760 in Georgia, he entered the Revolutionary Army at about age 15. He drove a provision wagon until he was considered old enough to enter the regular service. A grant of land was given to him for his service by Edward Telfair, captain, governor, and commander in Chief of Georgia and is now on file in the secretary of state's office in Alanta, Georgia. It is dated January 20, 1786 and calls for 287 acres in Washington County, Georgia.



Leonard Stringer is buried at Miller Cemetery located just South of the intersection
of hwys. 93 & 866 on the right side of the road.
