REV. GAYLON D. PRICE
The Rev. Gaylon Price accepted Christ as his personal Saviour in 1945 at the Garvinwood General Baptist church, Evansville, Indiana. At the age of 19 he accepted the call to the ministry and preached his first sermon September 24, 1950 at the Garvinwood church. He entered Oakland City College to better prepare himself for the ministry in the Fall of 1950. The first year of his ministry he didn't have the pastorate of a church, but was privileged to have 65 engagements to preach. To date he has preached 246 sermons; helped in 6 revivals; witnessed 30 conversions; baptized 5; conducted one funeral and married two couples.
He has been pastor of the otter Creek General Baptist church near Boonville, Ind., since September 1951. He is a member of the Clay General Baptist church, Clay, Ky., and is a member of the Presbytery of Union Association. He was ordained to the full work of the ministry by Union Association at Earlington, Ky., October 15, 1952.
