REV. LONA R. LUTZ
The Rev. Lutz, while attending a revival that was in progress at Concord General Baptist Church, and that was being carried on by the pastor, Rev. O. L. Duncan, assisted by the Rev. Edd Oakley, came under conviction for his sins, and on Saturday night before the fourth Sunday in July, 1937, he gave his heart to the Lord and united with the Concord church.
A few years later he experience the call of the ministry and accepted it, promising to do what he could for the Lord.
he was ordained to the full work of the ministry on April 23, 1942 at the Dixon General Baptist Church, Dixon, Ky. Rev. W. T. Winstead was moderator of the Presbytery, and Rev. M. L. Clark, clerk.
After preaching for some three years he realized the need for further preparation, so he enrolled in Oakland City College, Oakland City, Indiana, where he spent two years.
He has served as pastor of the following churches: Concord, Tilden, Free Union, Beech Grove, Cumberland Valley, Sebree, Union Hill, Beulah, all of Union Association and Lake Side Church of Long Creek Association. He has helped organize two General Baptist Churches.
He has preached 850 sermons; witnessed about 125 professions of faith; baptized 88 candidates; conducted three funerals, and married nine couples.
He has been in the ministry for 14 years, and trusts to do what he can for his Lord.
