   MAJOR GEORGE C. MAJOR  BORN FEBRUARY 23, 1919 SON OF SELDON TRIMBLE &     MARY SALLY CUNNINGHAM MAJOR
 
       SERVED 21 YEARS IN US ARMY FROM JUNE 05, 1941 TO JUNE 30, 1962
       RETIRED MAJOR SERVED AS COMPANY COMMANDER OFFICER-
       BATTALION EXECUTIVE OFFICER WHEN US REARMING GERMANY..
 
       STATION IN THE UNITED STATES:  FT. DIX, N.J., CAMP POLK, LA.,
       CAMP ROBERTS, CA, FT. ORE, CA, CAMP RUCKER, ALA, FT. KNOX, KY,
       FT. BRAGG, N.C., TAUGHT ROTC MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY.
 
       STATION OVERSEAS:  ICELAND, GERMANY, OCCUPATION OF JAPAN,
       BANGKOK, THAILAND, ENGLAND, IRELAND, INVASION OF NORMANDY,
       FRANCE.
 
       WAS SHOT DOWN IN FRANCE, BADLY WOUNDED AND TAKEN
       PRISONER DURING WWII.



   
 
  MAJOR GEORGE C. MAJOR AND GERMAN OFFICERS.
       US ARMY REARMED THE GERMAN ARMY WITH MILITARY EQUIPMENT.
       GEORGE AND GROUP OF SOLDIERS WAS SENT TO TURN OVER THE EQUIPMENT
       AND TO GIVE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO USE IT TO THESE OFFICERS.
