George Sugg Allen was the son of James Russell (Jimmy) Allen and Mary White Patterson.

He was born on the 27th day of March 1836 in Davidson County, T and died the 23rd day of July 1914 at Ashland City, Cheatham County, Tennessee.

George was a doctor. He attended Vanderbilt and Nashville Medical School, graduating in 1864. He was married the 18th of March 1862 in Charlotte, Dickson County, to Jeanette McKinney Oakley Allen who was born in 1848 and died the 17th day of August 1888. His second wife was Mattie G. Carroll Collier who died in 1908. His third wife is unknown by living family members.

George and Jennette had the following children, Robert O, George S, James Madison, Mar Eve, Emily, Tennie E. Who died in infancy.

George owned a Stagecoach that ran between Ashland City and Nashville and a Ferry boat which crossed river at Ashland City. He owned Sidney's Bluff at Ashland City. He provided 5 acres of land for use by Sycamore Powder Mill on river front next to Ferry Landing at Ashland City. He also owned land on South Elizabeth street in Ashland City.

Mrs Mattie Allen, wife of Shepard L. Allen, has the original deed of the cemetery plot, dated 7 Feb 1889, which was purchased for $128.00 and contains 12 gravesites, all of which, except 3 and 1/2 are filled as of 1 Oct. 1991. Buried there are: Dr. George S. Allen, 24 Jul. 1914, and wife Jennette Oakley Allen, 28 Mar, 1889 (actually died 17 Sept. 1888), Robert O. Allen 27 August 1916, Emily A. Harper 27 December 1958, Irwin R. Harper 21 June 1961, Infant J.W. Felts 16 Sept. 1889, George S. Allen 3 Mar 1928 (killed by a truck at New Shops RR terminal, West Nashville, Tennessee), Mary B. Allen 30 May 1913, and Jenetta A. Horton 1990.
