Lavine Cavanah

Services for Alice LaVine Cavanah, 94,Casky Lane, will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday
at Maddux Funeral Home, Hopkinsville, with the Rev. Max Sleed officiating.

Burial will follow at 4 p. m. at Maplelawn Cemetery, Paducah, Ky.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p. m. Saturday.

She died at 1:45 a. m. Thursday at Christian Health Center of natural causes.

A native of Marion, she was born Feb. 9, 1905, the daughter of the late E. L. and
Minnie Mae Driver Guess. She was a member of the Casky Baptist Church and
was the first director of the Jonathan Creek Baptist Assembly. Her husband, the
Rev. G.O. Cavanah, died in 1975.

Survivors include two sons, Gerald O. Cavanah, Sierra Vista, Ariz., George R. Cavanah,
Louisville; four daughters, Sara Clayton, Independence, June Hatley, Dallas, Texas, Shirley
Pace, Calvert City, and Rebecca Clark, Hopkinsville; two brothers, Roy N. Guess, Long
Beach, Calif., Charles E. Guess, Nampa, Idaho; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and
four great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Alice Lloyd College, Pippa Passes or to the Oneida Baptist Institute in Oneida.
