History of the Hayward Home

The Edward J. Hayward Home, it was built built in 1904.
It was then sold to Marshall Jenkins.
Mr. Jenkins sold it in 1921 to the Marion School Board.
At that time it became Marion High School.
In 1942 the Marion School Board sold it to the Crittenden County Hospital Board.
It was the Crittenden County Hospital from July 1944 until 1972.

There is a civic organization called "Crittenden County for Tomorrow"
that is now in the process of trying to apply for grants and raise money to
restore the old mansion.
