Rutherford Barton Brown
Rutherford Barton Brown, 82 years old, died last Thursday, March 3, at at
the home of his son, Pierce Brown, in Curlew. Mr. Brown had been making his
home with his son for the past year. Death came after an illness of about two weeks.
The deceased man formerly lived in this county but was a native of Wilson County,
Tennessee, where he lived until the Civil War. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the
Confederate army and served thruout the remainder of the war. Mr. Brown was married
to Miss Mary J. Cook of Wilson County, Tennessee.
