Sudden Death Of Wealthy Merchant, Who Formerly Lived Here
Mr. A.T. Torian, a wealthy merchant of Evansville, died last Thursday night after a brief illness.
He had been in poor health for some years, but his death was sudden. Mr. Torian was born in Christian county, near Gracey, but engaged in business in Evansville shortly after the Civil War.Hopkinsville Kentuckian May 1900


LELIA HANCOCK TORIAN
Former Trigg Resident 82, Dies in Cleveland, Ohio Notice has been received of the death and burial of Mrs Lelia
Hancock Torian.
Mrs Torian was a sister to Mrs L.H. Averitt, Mrs Virgie Tuggle, near Caledonia and Mrs L.M. Gray, of Hopkinsville; also sister to John Hancock and Dr. E.D. Hancock, Cadiz.
Mrs Torian passed away at their apartment in Cleveland, Ohio, the 26th of December and was buried at Painesville, Ohio, the 27th by the side of her husband, A.V. Torian, who died several years ago.
She was born near Cadiz at the D.M. Hancock home and the eldest of the four daughters of the late D.M. and Ella W. Hancock. She was a good and true Christian woman and lived by the golden rule to do unto others as she would have them do to her. She was 82 years old at the time of her death and
had been a resident of Cleveland for many years. Cadiz Record - Jan 1940

Passes Away in Florida
Accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Brewer, the bordy of Mrs. Mary Ellen Torian, the mother of Mr. Brewer, left Miami Sunday night for Palatka, Florida, wher the burial took place Monday evening at 5:30 in Oak Hill Cemetery, the Rev. Mr. Bonsteel, pastor of the Baptist church where Mrs. Torian was a member, officiated.
After a plolonged illness of serveral months, Mrs. Torian's death came as a shock to her family and friends on Saturday morning at 11:00.
She was born in Christian County in 1845, coming to Florida in 1855; settling with her husband Jake Torian and family in Lake County.
Since her husband's death she has lived with her two sons, Thomas Brewer, about four years ago.  She leaves besides Mr. Brewer, a daughter and one sister, Mrs. John M. Winslow of Okahumpke, Florida; two brothers Owen and A. V. Torian of Kentucky to mourn her loss.

SALLIE TORIAN
Services for Sallie M. Duerson Torian, 77, Mechanic Street, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Babbage Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cave Spring Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 3 this afternoon at the funeral home.
She died at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Jennie Stuart Medical Center following an illness.
A native of Christian County, she was born July 23, 1919, daughter of the late Dave Torian Sr. and his wife, the late Sammir Moore Duerson Torian. She was a domestic and a member of Big Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, David Torian, Louisville, Frank Torian, La Grange, Lawrence Torian, Paducah, and Will Henry Torian, Hopkinsville; three daughters, Carolyn Torian, Hopkinsville, Joyce Thompson, Danbury, Conn., and Dorothy M. Taylor, Fayetteville, N.C.; a brother, Sterling Duerson, Indianapolis, Ind.; four sisters, Sadie Steele, Gertie Brody and Lizzie Coleman, all of Hopkinsville, and Willie Dudley, Pembroke; and 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
