D. I. "Doc" SPARKS, age 76, died at 11 o'clock Tuesday night at his home near here on route two.
He is survived by his wife, Mae. Three daughters, Mrs. Harold SMITH, Mrs. William GARDNER and Mrs. Arnold TFETTSCHER all of Evansville. Two sons, S. E. and J. D. SPARKS, both of Evansville; two brothers Luther of Henderson and Edmond of Louisville; two sisters, Mrs. Ella MINOR and Mrs. Durwin DENTON of Henderson and eleven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday (today) at the Mt. Lebanon Church with Rev. Ray Ridenour, of Livermore, Ky., officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.( Evansville Press April 9 1953)


ORVILLE ALLEN SPARKS

Orville Allen (Tunnie) Sparks, 72, of 420 Harding Ave., died at 4:25 a.m. Thursday at Community Methodist Hospital.
He was employed by Ashland Oil Corp., for nearly 30 years and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Mollie; two daughters, Kaye McDonald of Henderson and Glenda Mayes of East Point Ga.; and one son, James Douglas Sparks, of Portage, Ind.; one sister Dorothy Householder of Henderson; and six grandchildren.
services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home with burial in Fairmont Cemetery. The Rev. Lyman will officiate.
