WILLIAM H SHEPHERDWilliam H Shepherd, of the Mt. Carmel neighborhood, was kicked in the abdomen last Saturday by a colt only nine days old from which he suffered greatly until this morning when he died.
Mr. Shepherd was a leading member of the Methodist church, an industrious good citizen and was a candidate before, the Democratic convention this spring for jailer. His sudden death fills many hearts with grief.

Born 2 March 1895 in Christian Co., son of Harrison and Emma James Shepherd.
Retired farmer who was recognized in 1973 by former Gov. Wendell Ford for his work with area farmers classes. Member of Sinking Fork Christian Church and in his younger years was affiliated with the Mount Carmel United Methodist Church. His wife, Tessie Athoy Gresham Shepherd, died last July 14.
Survivors: two daughters, Mrs. James (Erline) Cansler of Christian Co. and Mrs. John W.
