Mrs Ragon Dies in Evansville
Relatives in Cadiz were advised last Thursday of the death of Mrs Chester Lee RAGON, of Evansville, Indiana on the
day (Thursday) May 4, near 4 p.m.
Death came practically without warning to either herself or her friends.
Funeral services were held at her home in Evansville last Saturday afternoon at 3 p.
Mrs Ragon had visited her cousin, Mrs John LAWRENCE and Mrs G.B. BINGHAM in Cadiz many times, the last time was in November of 1943.
She is survived by a brothers, Frank Laughlin, of Memphis Tenn.Cadiz

Deceased A Second Cousin of Mrs. C. A. Chappell of Cadiz
Mr. Daniel Ragon, a native of Cadiz and second cousin of Mrs. C. A. Chappell, of this city, died last Thursday at his home in Peoria, Ill. He was between 65 and 70 years of age.
His father, the late Ferd Ragon, was fifty years ago a prominent merchant of Cadiz, he and his brother, Ed Ragon, doing business under the firm name of Ragon Brothers.
They later went to Evansville and for years were engaged in the wholesale grocery business, the son being connected with the firm for a number of years.
THE EVANSVILLE COURIER of last Friday speaks of the death of Mr. Ragon as follows:
Daniel Ragon, former Evansville business man, died in Peoria, Ill, yesterday, according to work received by friends in this city yesterday. Death was due to a paralytic stroke suffered three weeks ago.
Ragon was connected with the wholesale grocery firm in this city of Ragon bros., and later became manager of the Bennet & Seitz wholesale grocery firm. Severing his connection with the local company, he left for Peoria, where he entered business.
He is survived by the widow and three children, Ferd, Alvah and Mrs. William Fink, all of Peoria, and three grand children. The remains will be brought to Evansville for burial. Funeral services will be held from the Oak Hill cemetery chapel Saturday morning.

Mrs. Fannie W. Ragon, one of the oldest and most highly respected ladies of Cadiz, died last Monday afternoon of the infirmities of age together with other complication.
