Died Friday 31 January 1986 in Jennie Stuart Medical Ctr.

Born 20 June 1907 in Christian Co., son of John Balford and Annie Florence Shepherd Petty.

Formerly owned and operated Forbes Hardware, later was employed at Western State Hospital retiring in 1972. Was one of the organizers of the Little League football and baseball programs in Hopkinsville and coached the Rotary teams for many years. Member and elder of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors: wife, Ruth Maloney Petty; two daughters, Sue Barr of Santa Maria, Calif. and Anne Petty of the home; two brothers, Edgar and Robert Petty both of Hopkinsville; two sisters, Alma Jarman and Frances Atwood both of Hopkinsville; four grandsons.

Services: Saturday 1 February 1986, burial in Riverside Cem. Hughart & Beard Funeral Home.

Retired farmer, member of Henderson Memorial Baptist Church.
His first wife, Ruby Cantrell Petty, died in 1974.

Petty of Hopkinsville; daugther, Mrs. Bill (Vonda) Dew of Hopkinsville; a stepson, Dr. Bill Dew of Hopkinsville; a stepdaughter, Mrs. George (Anna) Muriel Kennedy of Hopkinsville; two sisters, Alma Jarman and Frances Atwood both of Hopkinsville; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren.

Her husband, William Thomas Petty whom she married 27 December 1898, died 29 May 1961. She was also preceded in death by a son, Clyde, 23 years ago. Mrs. Petty moved in 1927 to Battle Creek, Mich., returning 23 years ago.
Survivors: a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Miller and a son, Eugene Petty both of Battle Creek; 16 grandchildren; three great grandchildren.

Ulies Walton Petty Jr., 64, Evansville, Ind formerly of Christian County, died at 5 a.m.Friday at Columbia Healthcare Center, Evansville, of natural causes.
Services were at 1 p.m. Monday at Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home, with burial in Hamby Cemetery.
A native of Christian County, he was born March 30, 1935, the son of -the late Ulies Walton Petty Sr. and Mamie Everle Jones Petty. He was retired from Zenith Inc., Evansville, and was a member of the Riverside Church of God.
Survivors include his stepfather, Jesse Miller, Evansville; three sons, Ulies Petty, Gary Allen Petty and Walter Lee Petty, all of Evansville; two daughters, Sarah Marie Brandenberger, Brenda Sue Mull, both of Evansville;
two brothers, William and Ernest Miller, Evansville; two sisters, Mae Allen Mosley, Evansville, Dessie Scholl, Falls City, Neb.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
