Services for Amanda Jane Pelphrey, 88,
             Redbud Drive, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday
             at Betts and West Funeral Home, Nicholasville.

             Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery,
             Nicholasville. Visitation will be from 4 until 8
             tonight at Betts and West. Fuqua-Hinton Funeral
             Home is in charge of local arrangements.

             She died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, at Jennie Stuart
             Medical Center following a brief illness.

             A native of Lincoln County, she was born April 22,
             1911, the daughter of the late Alfred and Amanda
             Leathers Coy. She was a homemaker and a member
             of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Her first
             husband, Clyde James, died in 1971. Her second
             husband, Charles Pelphrey, died in 1993.

             Survivors include three sons, John James,
             Hopkinsville, William Earl James, Lancaster,
             Harold Lee James, Killeen, Texas; two sisters,
             Lilly Barnes, Cynthiana, Nettie Barnes, Paris; 11
             grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren
