JUDITH H. PEDEN

             Judith Hutchison Peden, 77, Foston Chapel
             Road, died at 4:02 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000,
             at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.

             A private memorial service will be held at a later
             date. Hughart and Beard Funeral Home,
             Hopkinsville, is in charge of arrangements.

             A native of Christian County, she was born Feb.
             25, 1922, the daughter of the late Boyd M. and
             Sibyl Boxley Hutchison. She was a retired
             secretary for Munday, Lacy and Peden Insurance
             Co. She was a member of the First Christian
             Church. Her husband, Maxie B. Peden Sr.,
             preceded her in death.

             Survivors include two sons, Maxie B. Peden Jr.,
             Hopkinsville, Charles G. Peden, Lexington; and a
             sister, Martha Major, Hopkinsville.

             Memorials may be made to the Christian County
             Humane Society, Post Office Box 1233,
             Hopkinsville, Ky., 42240.



RENFRO PEDEN

             SENECA, S.C. -- Renfro Peden, 81, Seneca,
             formerly of Hopkinsville, Ky., died this
             morning, Feb. 11, 2000, in a nursing home in
             Seneca following a long illness.

             Services will be at 3 p.m. (EST) at the Trinity
             Baptist Church, Seneca. Burial will be in Seneca.
             Sandifer Funeral Home, Westminister, N.C., is in
             charge of arrangements.

             A native of Hart County, he was born Feb. 4, 1918,
             the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Peden. He
             was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a
             World War II Army veteran. He was a former
             commander of the South Carolina American
             Legion. He was a member and founder of Trinity
             Baptist Church, Seneca. His wife, Sybil Bailey
             Peden, and a son, Robert Peden, preceded him in
             death.

             Survivors include a daughter, Judy Peden Kay,
             Cadar, N.C.; and a sister, Katherine Peden,
             Louisville, formerly of Hopkinsville.

             Memorials may be made to the Trinity Baptist
             Church, Seneca.
