William Oscar Oatts, 79, Pilot Rock Road, died at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, Tenn., following surgery.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Maddux Funeral Home, Hopkinsville, with the Rev. Joe Carter officiating. Burial will be in New Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 tonight.
A native of Todd County, he was born July 22, 1917, the son of the late William Thomas and Jimmie Jones Oatts. He was a retired farmer and had formerly worked at the M.G. Williams Implement Co., Roeder Implement Co. and was a former partner in Tandy's Loosefloor. He was a life member of the New Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Tina Latham Oatts; a son, William Cary Oatts, Hopkinsville; two daughters, Marilyn O. Hester, Hopkinsville, Sara Lee Monroe, Allegre; a brother, Dorris E. Oatts, Cadiz; a half-brother, Lindall Oatts, Hopkinsville; three sisters, Ovie Bee Williamson, Hopkinsville, Oberia Halpain, Port Charlotte, Fla., Wanda Lee Grace, Elmhurst, Ill.; two half-sisters, Kay Durham and Betty Martin, both of Crofton; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the New Ebenezer Cemetery Fund.
