INFANT OF CELIA OATSRev. T.L. Crandell, in returning here yesterday when about half a mile from the place discovered some hogs devouring something and riding out to them discovered it was a new-born colored baby.
He placed the child out of reach and reported the matter to Judge Jackson who had a jury summoned and proceeded to the spot.
The evidence goes to show that Celia Oats had been threatened with confinement that morning and having disappeared, she was sought out and arrested by Marshall Ed Higgins who carried her to jail last night. I understand that she confessed the crime.
