In Memoriam of Dr. V.M. METCALFE
Whereas, Dr. V.M. METCALFE, a patron of husband, departed this life on the 12th day of March, 1896, and being a member of the Church Hill Grange, we deem it appropriate to offer the following tribute of respect:
Resolved
That in the death of Brother Metcalfe the Grange has lost a valued member, a sholar who has contributed much to the advancement of agricultural interests. As a Christian minister it was his life work to be a laborer in the Master's vineyard, a living witness ever ready to testify in the cause of his Redeemer. The young people will cherish and lovingly remember the author of "Uncle Minor's Stories".
Resolved
That society is bereft of one of its brightest ornaments. As a scholar and scientist he was in full accord with the progressive age in which he lived.
Resolved
That a copy of these resolution be spread on the records of Church Hill Grange and a copy presented to the family of our deceased brother.
