John McDaniel Dies of Dysentery in Manila
Other Kentuckians Sacrificed to The Republican Policy of Imperialism
In the long list of deaths reported from Manila yesterday appeared the following Kentuckians:
"Private Charles Hestilow, Company I, Thirty-first volunteer infantry, died at Manila of dysentery. He enlisted at Bowling Green, and his nearest relative is John Hestilow, of that town.Private William T. Hedges, Company M. Thirty-seventh volunteer infantry, died at Manila of dysentery. He enlisted at Cynthiana, and his nearest relative is Mrs. O. B. Scott, of that town.
Corporal John A. Henderly, Company M, Thirty-first volunteer infantry died at Manila of dysentery. He enlisted at Fort Thomas.
Private John C. McDaniel, Company K, Thirty-first volunteer infantry, died at Manila of dysentery. He enlisted at Hopkinsville, Ky., and his nearest relative is Robert T. Mc Daniel of that place.
John McDaniel was the youngest son of Capt. R. T. McDaniel, ans was 23 years of age and unmarried.
He was born in this city, July 7, 1878, and enlisted in the army August 10, 1899, arrived in Manila in October 1899 and died there July 18, 1900. this briefly tells the story that covers the career of a promising young man, one of more than 4,000 who have died in the Philippines.
Hif father, two brothers and three sisters learned yesterday for the first time of his fate, though he had been dead for three weeks. In their sorrow they have the sympathies of the whole city.
JACKSON, Minn. - John Lambert MCDANIEL, 67, of Jackson, a native of Robards, died March 22 in Minneapolis.
He is survived by a son, Wallace MCDANIEL of Jackson; a brother, Paul MCDANIEL of Reno, Nev.; and three grandchildren.
Services and burial were Tuesday in Jackson.
