December 24, 1963Enoch L. McCargo Found Dead At Home:
Enoch Lee McCargo, 83. was found dead in his home off the Dawson Road. Coroner Gordon Hall said the man died from natural causes and probably had been dead since early in the week.
His body, fully clothed, was found lying across his bed. Mr. McCargo operated a farm about 2 1/2 miles north of this city and was a former evangelistic minister. He never married and lived alone.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Bertie M. Cornelius and Mrs. Ethel Gilliland, both of the city; two brothers, Byron McCargo, of the county, and Olan McCargo, Jacksonville, FL; and several neices and nephews. Nephews
were pallbearers.
Enoch was the son of Lewis N. McCargo and Mary P. Wood.
