Sudden Death
Mrs F.B. Mathews, a passenger enroute from Bandana to Corydon, Ky, died very suddenly at the Palace Hotel, of this
city, yesterday about 12:30 of heart disease.
Mrs Mathews was about fifty years old, and was on her way to Corydon for a visit to her sister. On arriving in this city Wednesday morning on the 9:29 train she fainted, and was carried to the Palace Hotel, where she soon recovered, but yesterday almost without warning, she was seized with another attack, and expired very suddenly. She had been married twice, and has a son by the name of Harvey Drewey, who resides at Henderson.
Her remains were carried to Henderson last night on the train for internment. Caldwell Co 1906

Father of J. Virgil Matthews Dies in Tennessee
Mr. Washington Matthews, father of Mr. J. V. Mathews, of this city died Friday night at his home near Kinney's, Tenn. He had been in bac health for several months. He was 73 years old and death was due to the infirmities incident to old age. He leaves a handsome estate and was at one time among the wealthiest planters of Robertson county, but a few years ago lost about $15,000 by the failure of a Nashville bank, of which he was a stockholder. He was a member of the Baptist church and leaves six children. His son, Mr. J. V. Matthews, was summoned to his bedside about a week ago, and was with him when he died.
