Mrs. Oscar Mason, living on the Ed C. Lawrence place three miles west of Cadiz, died Tuesday night about nine o'clock following an operation last Saturday morning for gall stones. Her condition had been critical for some days before the operation, and this failed to bring the relief desired, and the end followed.
Mrs. Mason was fifty-two years of age and was the oldest daughter of Phillip P. Guier and Virginia Terrell Guier, both now deceased.
More than twenty years ago she was united in marriage to Mr. Mason, and six children survive as a result of that union. She is also survived by one brother and two sisters, - George Guier, of Paducah, and Mrs. James H. Robey and Mrs. Charley English, of Trigg county.
Mrs. Mason united with the Methodist church when a girl and remained a true followers of her Master until death. She was a splendid woman with many friends and her untimely death is mourned by many.
Funeral service was held yesterday afternoon at two o'clock at Dyer's Chapel church, conducted by Rev. L. L. Freeman and burial followed at the Lawrence grave yard.
