Born 5 November 1902 in Christian Co., daughter of John Breathitt and Lucy Wilson Wicks.
Member of West Grove Baptist Church. Her husband, James Herbert Martin, died in 1976. A daughter, Loretta Martin, died in 1923.
Survivors: daughter, Mrs. L. P. (Arletta) Alexander of Crofton; two grandchildren; six great grandchildren.

EDITH LARKIN MARTINFuneral services were conducted Friday afternoon for Mrs. ETHEL LARKIN MARTIN who died Thursday, April 20 following an illness of several years.
The Rev. J. A. Collier conducted the last rites from the Mt. Zion M. E. Church Saturday afternoon with interment being made in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Mrs. Martin was born October 29, 1887 the oldest daughter of the late FRANK LARKIN and Mrs. JENNIE HAYTTON LARKIN. On July 21 1907 she was married to LETHAL I. Martin.
Six children were born to this union. In early childhood the deceased united with the Mt. Zion Methodist Church where she remained a lifelong membership. Survivors are her husband, mother, six children, Mrs. Homer Shelton, Boynton Beach, Florida; Hugh Martin; Bernice-----Paducah 1950

Henderson, Ky - At Burlington, this morning at 5 o'clock, as a frieght train was pulling out of the yard a brakeman named J.H. Martin fell between the cars, several of which passed over him, resulting in instant death. He was a new man and nothing is known of his name or relatives.

JOE MARTINJoe Martin Dies Wednesday Morning
Heart trouble of several years standing took the life of Joseph MARTIN, 72, at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. He was born in De Kalb county, Tenn; and came to Trigg county about 25 years ago to engage in the nursery business.
In 1920 he was united in marriage to Miss Johnnie THOMAS of this county. After this marriage they resided on what was known as the 'old Thomas farm' on the Canton Pike.
Twelve years ago they moved to Cadiz and have resided here ever since.
Funeral services were held today at 3 p.m. from the home of the deceased. Interment was made at the Thomas graveyard near the Oak Grove Church. Surviving are his wife and two daughters, Charlene Martin of the city and Mrs Harold Witty also of Cadiz,Cadiz Record May 1944

Grim Reaper Claims World War Veteran
ROBERT LEE MARTIN, son of Mr and Mrs R. E. MARTIN, of Providence and a World War Veteran, died at the Presbyterian hospital at Albuquerque, NM, Wednesday may 20th. The young veteran had made a valiant though futile struggle against tuberculosis, probably superinduced by exposure, endured while overseas. He had been in declining health for a long time, and went first to Tucson, Arizona, and then to New Mexico, seeking the relief which never came. He had been confined to the hospital cot only a few weeks. The remains were conveyed to Providence for funeral services and interment. The deceased was a nephew of MRS. GRESHAM COX of this city, and she, with Rev. James T. Rushing, a devoted friend of the family, went to Providence when word of the untimely death reached here.Princeton, Ky Jun 1 1926
T P MARTINKilled by the Cars
Monday night a brakeman named T.P. Martin was killed at the depot by a moving train.
This was Martin's first trip over this division of the road. The engine of his train was engaged in side tracking some cars, and he was to "ride" the cars into the switch. In attempting to pass from one box car to another, it is supposed he fell between them. The cars had almost stopped at the time and only one pair of trucks passed over his body. Coroner Bell held an inquest that night. His investigation showed that the wheels had passed over the chest of the young man, badly crushing it, and that the right leg was almost severed from the body and horribly mangled. Martin is from Bowling Green, but beyond this nothing could be learned of him. The railroad authorities took charge of the remains and shipped them to Bowling Green Tuesday afternoon to his relatives.
