Born in Christian Co., son of Clarence and Cella Litchfield of Dawson Spring Road. His parents survive.
A heavy equipment operator, veteran of World War II.
Other survivors: widow, Sarah Pool Litchfield; a number of nieces and nephews.

Beulah Shepherd Litchfield, 89, Hopkinsville, Ky.
Died Monday 21 December 1992 at the home of a daughter, Freida Cornelius.
Born in Christian Co. 29 October 1903, daughter of thomas Harrison and Emma James Shepherd.
Homemaker, life-long member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, where she was pianist and organist for more than 50 yrs. Husband, Luther Edgar Litchfield, died in 1975.
Survivors: two daughters, Mrs. Arnold(Freida) Cornelius of Princeton Road and Eva Joyce Sivells of Hopkinsville; a brother, Ralph Shepherd of Royal Oak, Mich.; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.
Services: Wednesday 23 December 1992, burial in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Hughart & Beard Funeral Home.

Died Saturday 8 March 1986 in Covington's Convalescent Ctr.
Born 15 April 1891 in Christian Co., the daughter of Taylor LaFayette and Mary Elizabeth Roberts Moreland.
Member of Old Concord Methodist Church. Husband, Clarence Litchfield, died in 1970.
There are no immediate survivors.

Born 9 February 1890 in Christian Co., son of James and Mattie James Litchfield.
Retired farmer. Member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. One son, Barksdale Litchfield, died in 1968.
Survivors: widow,Cella Moreland Litchfield; two sisters, Mrs. Lula Heflin of Gracey and Mrs. Jame Thomas of Dawson Springs; number of nieces and nephews.

James Wylie Litchfield, 75, Christian Co., Ky.
Died Tuesday 26 January 1960 in Jennie Stuart Hospital.
Born 29 August 1884 in Christian Co., sons of E. M. (Bud) and Armilda Ladd Litchfield.
Married Nora Lester, on 23 September 1906, who died nine years ago. Retired farmer and grocer of the Hawkins community. Served as Sunday School superintendent at Mt. Carmel Methodist Church for more than 35 years. Four brothers preceded him in death.
Survivors: a daughter, Mrs. Lola Smiley of Christian County is the only immediate survivor.
Services: Thursday 28 January 1960, burial in Riverside Cem. Keightley Funeral Home.

Luther Edgar Litchfield, 72, Hopkinsville, Ky.
Died Tuesday 28 January 1975 in Jennie Stuart Hospital.
Born 7 February 1902 in Christian Co., son of Thomas Walter and Septum Lula Glover Litchfield.
Retired farmer. Member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, served as chairman of the board, Sunday School superintendent and had been song leader for 40 years.
Survivors: widow, Beulah Shepherd Litchfield; two daughters, Mrs. Arnold Cornelius of Christian Co. and Mrs. Jim Sivells of Hopkinsville; three brothers, Arthur, Ernest and Truman Litchfield, all of Hopkinsville; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Roberts of Trigg Co. and Mrs. Norman Hamby of Crofton; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
Services: Thursday 30 January 1975, burial in Mt. Carmel Church cemetery. Hughart Funeral Home.

MARGARET LITCHFIELD

MARGARET LITCHFIELD, 68, of Kevil Route 4, died at 10 p.m. Monday at her home.
Mrs. Litchfield is survived by a son, George C. Whiddon of Hessville, In; a stepson, Harold Wayne Litchfield of Edinburg, In., a stepdaughter, Juanita Stinson of Murray; a sister, Mary Watson of Colorado Springs, colo; nine grand children, two great grandchildren.
Her husband, Owen Litchfield preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. friday at Lindsey Funeral Home in Paducah. The Rev. Kevin Denton will officate and burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Thursday.

DEATH CLAIMS MRS. LITCHFIELD
Was Past Eighty-Seven Years of Age and Seven Children Among Surviving Relatives
MRS. MARTHA E. SMITH LITCHFIELD, a splendid old lady of Cadiz and wife of SAMUEL LITCHFIELD, who died on January 7th, a year ago died at her home in the west section of Cadiz last Monday evening near four o'clock.

For many years she had been an invalid and she was able to move able the home as others helped her. For some time, however, it had been realized that she was growing weaker, and for some days the end had been momentarily expected. At the time of her death her age was eighty-seven years, two months and eight days.
She was a daughter of the late W.W. SMITH, of Bethesda section and one sister survives her . - MRS. MARY PIERCY of Cadiz. She is also survived by four sons and three daughters. They are REV. A. D. LITCHFIELD, of Louisville, MRS. W.H. LYLE, Nashville; IRA LITCHFIELD, MRS W.T. TOOKE and MASON LITCHFIELD, of Cadiz; MRS J.Q. ADAMS of Hopkinsville and DR. HART LITCHFIELD of Los Angeles, California. She is survived by fifteen grand children and three great grandchildren.

Mrs. Litchfield was a most excellent old lady with many friends and while illness had kept her from mixing among them for many years she none the less enjoyed their  company when they called to see her. She was affectioned and kind to her family and friends, she was ever thoughtful and mindful.

At two o'clock Tuesday afternoon f uneral services were conducted at the family home in Cadiz by rev. E. ? Keelor, of the Methodist church and burial followed at East End Cemetery.

LOCAL CITIZEN PASSES AWAY
Funeral Services held Wednesday p.m. For Mason Litchfield
Death came to MASON K. LITCHFIELD Tuesday afternoon, June 15, at his home here following an illness of several weeks.
He had been in poor health for several years. He died at the age of 69 years, 8 months and 23 days, having been born
September 22, 1878, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam Litchfield. On July 9, 1913, the deceased was married to Miss Hettie Adams, who survives him. There were two children born of this union; Hart Litchfield, of Murray and Mrs. Charlie Collins, of Camp Campbell. Early in life he professed faith in Christ and united with the methodist church where he remained a member until death.
Funeral services were conducted from the local Methodist church yesterday afternoon at 3:00, with the pastor, Rev. A.C. Bowles, officiating. Burial followed at East End cemetery with Mitchell and Campbell in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers were Sam Adams, Jack Adams, Carney Adams, thomas Adams, Douglas Adams and Lexie Bush.
Survivors in addition to his widow and children mentioned above are four grand sons, two brothers, Rev. A.D. Litchfield, Louisville and Dr. Hart Litchfield of California, and one sister, Mrs. W.T. Tooke of this city. He is also survived by serveral nieces and nephews.

Nora Pearl Litchfield, 67, Cerulean, Ky.
Died Tuesday 13 February 1951 at her home.
Member of Mt. Carmel M. E. Church.
Survivors: husband, J. W. Litchfield; one daughter, Mrs. Cleatus Smiley of Cerulean; her mother, Mrs. R. A. Lester of Princeton; a brother, Walter Lester of Ordway, Colo.; three sisters, Mrs. Luther Glover of Providence and Mrs. Bertha Brandon and Mrs. Ada Adams of Princeton.
Services: time of funeral not set and place of burial not given. Keightly Funeral Home.

Kevil, Ky. Services for OWEN LITCHFIELD, 75, of Kevil Route 4, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lindsey Funeral Home in  Paducah.

 

The Tev. Kevin Denton will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Litchfield died at 12:58 a.m. Thursday at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
He was a member of a Baptist church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margaret Litchfield of Edinburg, Ind; a stepson, George C. Whiddon of Hessville, Ind., a daugher Juanita Stinson of Murray; a sister, Edna Steffenson of Colorado Springs, Colo., nine grand children and one great grandchild.
His parents Luther and Mollie Litchfield, five brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
