Born 28 August 1901 in Christian Co., daughter of W. J. and Caroline Reynolds Adams.
Former employee at Western State Hospital, retired bookkeeper for Local 442, Carpenter's Union.
Survivors: husband, Leo Holt, is her only immediate survivor.
Services: Sunday 18 January 1987, Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.

ESSIE HOLTLittle Essie Holt, daughter of our esteemed fellow citizen; Esquire H.L. Holt, died Wednesday afternoon of dysentery.
Her life went out as the evening shadows fell upon the bereaved household, and her sweet and cheerful soul followed the King of Day into the realm of eternal light and joy. The remains were interred at the residence of Mr.. Enoch Renshaw. To the bereaved family and friends we offer our sincerest condolence.

What a solemn thought that word "gone" expresses, and especially so when applied in the above connection. Little Essie had seen nine summers. She was the pride of her parents the light and life of the household. But God, in his infinite goodness, for some wise and noble purpose, that is beyond our comprehension, saw cause to take this precious little girl from her earthly home to dwell with angels on high, and on the 30th day of June, at the residence of her father, Mr. H.L. Holt, in this city, just as the evening shades was casting a mantle around, her pure spirit took its flight and her lovely little form with the mouth that closed her innocent life is now numbered with the things that were. " She is gone" A little mound all strewn with choice flowers in the little family burying grounds of her grand-parents, marks the last resting place of this darling child. And now to her parents, relatives and friends, whose heads are bowed down with grief, we would say " weep not."
