HARNEY
Sarah H. Harney, 74, died Saturday, March 7, at her home in Providence.
She was married to Ray B. Harney, a professional horse trainer who died in 1974.
Harney graduated from Brenau Academy and Brenau College in Gainesville, Ga., and earned a master of arts degree in psychology at the University of Kentucky, and in 1964 earned a masters of arts degree in social work at the University of Louisville.
In 1988 she retired after being a supervisor for 30 years for the Department for Social Services in Webster and Union counties. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Providence, belonged to the Providence Garden Club, Pakendall Woman's Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include three cousins, Nell Rice Sutherland, Elenor Shanks and Margaret Johnson.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Townsend-Jones Funeral Home in Providence with the Rev. Paul Stone officiating. Burial was in the Lisman Cemetery in
Providence.
