Pennyrile Deaths April 6, 1999LESLIE G. GUTHRIE GUTHRIE, Ky. — Leslie Gene Guthrie, 69, Elkton, died at 11:10 a.m. Monday at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Latham Funeral Home, with the Rev. Calvin Chittenden officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 this afternoon.
A native of Dickson county, Tenn., he was born Jan. 7, 1930, the son of the late Leslie Car-mack and Eunice Lee Holley Guthrie. He was a retired Elkton police chief, having served from 1976 until 1990, was an Army veteran and was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church. His wife, Ruth Odell Guthrie, died in 1988.
A sister, Betty Jean Garrett, Paris, Tenn., survives.
