Pennyrile Deaths May 10, 1999
Elkton, Ky. – Arlie Hazel Griffin, 77, Evansville, Ind., formerly of Todd County, died at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Wilburn Baptist Hospital, Evansville of natural causes.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Latham Funeral Home, with the Rev. Randy davenport officiating.  Burial will be in Helsley Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight.

A native of Muhlenberg County, he was born Aug 21, 1921, the son of the late Jess and Lucy Garrett Griffin.  He was a retired sawmill worker and was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Jewell Griffin; three sons, Arlie Scott Griffin, Browder, Kent and Wade Griffin, both of Elkton; two daughters, Ann Bush, Fairview and Lou dean Porter, Pembroke; a stepson, Ellis Settle, Clifty; two half-brothers, Raymond Martin, Louisville, Leslie Mayes, Clifty; 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.



CLEO REEDER GRIFFIN

Cleo Reeder GRIFFIN, 84, of 840 n. Adams St. died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday at Community Methodist Hospital. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Kathryn GRIIFFIN of Henderson; a grand-daughter, Rita CRAFTON of Henderson: two great-grandchildren, Marc CRAFTON and Amy CRAFTON, both of Henderson; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Hone with the Rev. Harry Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery. Friends a may call at the funeral home.

DAISY GRIFFIN

Daisy Griffin, 80, of 320 Sixth St. died Tuesday afternoon at her home, She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived at 1 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lum Woodard officiating. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery. Friends may call at gains Funeral Home after 1 p. m. Sunday.

Former Cadiz Resident Dies in Illinois
The many friends of Mrs John T Griffin, will regret to hear that she passed away on August 8 at her home in East St Louis, Ill.
Mr and Mrs Griffin and family lived in Cadiz for many years, their children grew to young man and womanhood in the city. Several years ago they moved to East St Louis where they have since resided.
Surviving are her husband and two children, Mrs Mary Mitchell of Arkansas, and John Griffin of Brooklyn, N.Y. and a number of grandchildren. Marion Griffin, another son, preceded Mrs Griffin to the grave several years ago.

O. M. "DUTCH" GRIFFIN

O. M. "DUTCH" Griffin, 78, of 500 Cherry St., died at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Medco Nursing Home. he was a member of the Christiadelthian Church.
Griffin is survived by a son, L. Ray Griffin of Henderson; a sister, Mrs. Linda Overfield of Robards; three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home with burial at Fernwood Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

WILTON GRIFFIN

Wilton Griffin Dies
Death Comes On March 19 After Weeks of Suffering Wilton Griffin, 59, passed away at his home near Dover Tenn, on March 19 after having been ill for over a year.
Pneumonia developed recently and was said to have hastened his death. Mr Griffin had followed saw milling the majority of his life and had worked in various parts of this county. He spent the majority of his life in this county with the exception of the last three which he lived near Dover.

He was born June 5, 1880, near Golden Pond, Ky, the only son of Mr and Mrs Roe Griffin. His parents died while he was quite young, and he spent his young life as an orphan.

During the last days of his illness he was under the care of Dr. Charles Crow, and nurse Helen H. Hendricks.
Surviving are the widows and four children, Florence and Nobel Ray Griffin, Mrs Hulda Turner and Mr Sam Jones, Benton. One granddaughter, Evelyn Delores Turner also survives.Cadiz Record - Mar 20, 1940
