Samuel T. Evans, a well known and respected young man, died Saturday morning.
His funeral was preached at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon by Rev E.W. Bottomly, the interment taking place at the city cemetery immediately thereafter. Mr.. Evans was a popular, energetic young man. He enjoyed the friendship of all who knew him, and death came only too soon to cut short an honorable career.

VERA EVANSBELLVIEW, Fla. - Vera Evans, 41, of Bellview, Fla., died at 5 p.m. Wednesday. She was past matron of the Eastern Star of Bellview 122.
She is survived by her husband, Ora Evans Jr.; her mother, Eula Shock of Owensboro, three sisters, Ruth Hicks Reanie Aldridge and Lillis Hester, all of Owensboro; two half-sisters, Lillian Ralph of Owensboro and Bula James of Karnak, Ill.; five brothers, George Jack, S. L., Ernest and Bobby Shocks, all of Owensboro; a mother-in-law, Lola Evans of Henderson; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Tapp Funeral Home with the Rev. Willard Clements officiating, Burial will be in Fairnmont Cemetery.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Sunday.
