ALICE CORNELIUS - Alice Dean Lester Cornelius, 65, Orlando, Fla., formerly of Crofton, died at 6:45 a.m. Sunday (September 15, 1996) at Orlando Regional Medical Center in that city following an illness.Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hughart and Beard Funeral Home, Crofton, with the Rev. Rick Oakley officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgetop Cemetery, Crofton. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral Friday at the funeral home.
A native of Christian County, she was born Jan. 7, 1931, daughter of Frances Craddock Lester, Madisonville, and the late Sammie Evan. She was a homemaker. Her husband, John Franklin Cornelius, died in 1975.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include two sons, Milton Craig Cornelius, High Springs, Fla.; and Donald Reed Cornelius, Gainesville, Fla.; a daughter, Johnon Cornelius Lane, Deltona, Fla.; two brothers, Charles Lester, Madisonville, and Albert Lester, Crofton; a sister, Helen Lester Foster, Crofton; and four grandchildren.

Died Wednesday 28 January 1981 at Jennie Stuart Hospital.
Born in Christian Co. 4 January 1898, daughter of Wiley Jacob and Sarah Ellen Simpson Ladd.
Member of Sinking Fork Christian Church. Husband, Luther Cornelius, died in 1978.
Survivors: 7 sons, Waldo of Lakeland, Fla., Douglas of Princeton and Dennis, Everett Lee, Cecil, Delmar and Arnold all of Christian Co.; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Services: Friday 30 January 1981, burial in the Cornelius family cemetery in Christian Co. Hughart Funeral Home.

BERTHA CORNELIUSGraveside services and burial for Bertha Cornelius, 82, of Crofton were conducted on Feb 6, 1998, at the Riverside Cemetery in Hopkinsville.
Mrs. Cornelius died on Feb 3 at the Hilltop Nursing home in Kuttawa.
Mrs. Cornelius was a housewife and a member of the Crofton Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Raymond Cornelius.
Survivors include a son, Anthony Cornelius of Cadiz, two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Rites To Be Held For Mrs. J. A. Cornelius - Funeral services for Mrs. J. A. Cornelius, 73-year-old resident of the South Christian section, will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Keightley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cornelius died at 9:45 a.m. yesterday (December 6, 1953) at Jennie Stuart Hospital following an illness of several months.
Survivors include a son, H.R. Cornelius of the city; three daughters, Mrs. Thomas Maloney of Evansville, Mrs. Ernest A. Binns and Mrs. Henry C. Anderson, both of the county; a step-daughter Mrs. Lydia E. Spicer, Evanston, Ill.; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. M. G. Cornelius of Crofton.
Pall bearers will be Lymon Cornelius, Raymond Cornelius, Arlett Cornelius, Lee Cornelius, Louie Cornelius and Lawrence Owen.
The services will be conducted by the Rev. L.L. Spurlin and burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

A native of Christian County, she was born Jan. 21, 1888, the daughter of John William and Jane Elizabeth Overby Bryant. She was a member of the Crofton Baptist Church. Her husband, Milton Gordon Cornelius, died June 8, and two daughters and one sister also preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Lymon of Crofton. C. Raymond of Mannington, and John F. Cornelius, Orlando, Fla.; five daughters, Mrs. Ralph Meador, this city, Mrs. Joe Dorris, Christian County, Mrs. Fred Rideout, Madisonville, Mrs. Charles Cranor, St. Charles, Mo.; and Mrs. Richard J. LYMON W. CORNELIUS
Lymon W. Cornelius, 87, Crofton, died at 5:20 a.m. Monday in Christian Health Center following a brief illness.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hughart and Beard Funeral Home, Crofton, with the Rev. Mike Van Heyningen officiating. Private, family burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday with Masonic rites at 7 p.m.
A native of Christian County, he was born July 10, 1909, the son of the late Milton G. and Lura Ann Bryant Cornelius. He had worked 43 years as an electrician with Peabody and Island Creek Coal companies. He was a member of the Crofton Christian Church and the Crofton Masonic Lodge.

A native of Christian County, he was born Aug. 18, 1887, the son of John Franklin and Julia Stewart Cornelius. He was retired from the restaurant business and was a former salesman for the old Ford Dixie Motor Co. of Crofton. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lura Bryant Cornelius, three sons, Lymon of Crofton, John of Orlando, Fla., and Raymond Cornelius, Mannington; five daughters, Mrs. Ralph Meador, Hopkinsville, Mrs. Fred Rideout, Madisonville, Mrs. Charles Cranor, St. Charles, Mo., Mrs. Richard Lewis, Campbell, N.Y., and Mrs. Joe Dorris, Christian County; one brother Moten D. Cornelius, Memphis, Tenn; 20 grandchildren
and 22 great grandchildren.
The family requested that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.

RAYMOND CORNELIUS
Raymond "Mush" Cornelius, 70, Mannington, died at 6 a.m. Thursday (May 5, 1983) at Jennie Stuart Medical Center after a long illness.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bandy Funeral Home, Nortonville, with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Christian County, he was born Oct. 4, 1912, the son of the late Milton Gordon and Lura Ann Bryant Cornelius. He was a member of Mannington Baptist Church, Mannington, and Woodmen of the World. He was a retired merchant.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Winders Cornelius; one son, Tony Cornelius, Terre Haute, Ind.; one brother Lymon Cornelius, Crofton; four sisters, Mrs. Joe (LaNell) Dorris and Mrs. Charles (Vivian) Cranor, both of Hopkinsville, Mrs. Fred (Lisbeth) Rideout, Madisonville, and Mrs. Richard (Annette) Lewis, Oceanport, NJ; and two
grandchildren.

Lura Bryant Cornelius was my mother. Mrs. J. A. Cornelius was my
mother's sister (she married my father's uncle J. Adrian Cornelius).
Alice Cornelius was my sister-in-law.
