Pennyrile Deaths – March 17, 1999PRINCETON, Ky. — Gordon Clayton, 87, Princeton, died at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the NHC Healthcare Center, Dawson Springs, following a long illness.Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Morgan’s Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joe Dripps officiating. Burial will be in Scarberry Cemetery, Caidwell County. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 tonight.A native of Caldwell County, he was born March 4, 1912, the son of the late Johnson and Eliza Scarberry Clayton. He was a retired carpenter with Princeton Lumber Co. and was a World War II veteran. He was a member of the Lewistown Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mavoline Dearmg Clayton; three daughters, Glenda Ladd, Caldwell County, Sherry Nix and Donna Cummins, both of Princeton; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

THOMAS EUGENE CLAYTON IVSEBREE - Thomas Eugene Clayton IV, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Eugene Clayton III, died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday at Community Methodist Hospital.Survivors other than his parents include his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Eugene Clayton Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Billy Scott, all of Sebree; great-grandparents, Helen Clayton of Henderson, Mr. and Mrs. James Scott E. Scott of Sebree, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Brown of Newburg, Ind., and Mr. and Mrs. McCiellan Riley of Reed.Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Tompkins and Son Funeral Chapel at Sebree with burial in Springdale Cemetery.Friends may call at the funeral home.
