CARLYN C. CHILDRESSPRINCETON, Ky. -- Carlyn C. Childress, 87,
Princeton, died at 5:50 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26,
2000, at her home after suffering an apparent heart
attack.Services were scheduled for 2:30 this afternoon at
Morgan's Funeral Home, with the Revs. Bobby
Jackson Sr., Duane Burden and the Rev. Dr. J.
Thomas Son. Burial was to be in Cedar Hill
Cemetery.A native of Caldwell County, he was born Nov.
28, 1912, the son of the late Spurlin and Birchie
Littlefield Childress. He was a retired carpenter
and a member and deacon of Second Baptist
Church, Princeton.Survivors include his wife, Verna Thomas
Childress; a son, the Rev. Gary Childress,
Hopkinsville; two daughters, Glenda Osborne,
Princeton, Sue Son, Madisonville; two sisters,
Evalee Hanna, Pasadena, Texas, Pauline Coffman,
Trenton, Fla.; 15 grandchildren and 21
great-grandchildren.
Jack Childress, 99, Princeton, died at 1:07 a.m. Sunday at Caldwell county Hospital following a long illness. Services will be Tuesday afternoon at Morgan's Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
A native of Princeton, he was born Dec. 12, 1898, the son of the late Tate and Mollie Bucher Childress. He wass a Methodist Minister and a bricklayer and was a member of the Bricklayers Union for more than 60 years. His wife, Audrey childress, preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sisters Nettie McCoy, McMinnville Tenn., and Martha Harpe, Cincinnati, Ohio.

James W. CHILDRESS, 88, Myrene Drive, died at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday at Redbanks Nursing Home.
He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Temple and Jerusalem Lodge number 9 for more than 50 years.
He is survived by two daughters, Joan CRAFTON, San Anselmo, Calif., and Gladys COOK, Tullahoma, Tenn.; three sons, James CHILDRESS and Thomas CHILDRESS, both of Henderson, and Clyde CHILDRESS of San Anselmo.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Tapp Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lyman Smith Allen officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.
Friends may call at Tapps Funeral Home after 10 a.m. Thursday.
Memorials may take form of donations to the Redbanks Activity Fund.

MRS CHILDRESSMrs. Childress, about 65 years of age, near Mannington, was attacked last Saturday night with sore throat, which suddenly grew worse, and all efforts to relieve her were fruitless. She suffered with terrible agony until yesterday when she died.
