The Evansville Press, Evansville, Ind. June 10, 1974 - Entered into eternal rest Sunday, June 9, 1974LEANDER HARVE CAVANAH, 100, of Dellaren Nursing Home, died at 8:30 yesterday.
Mr. Cavanah remained active until he became ill in May, mowing his lawn and planting a vegetable garden at his home at 1818 Hollywood.
He retired at age 77 from Bucyrus-Erie Co. where he had worked for 32 years as a painter. He was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church.
Mr. Cavanah turned 100 on Nov. 13 and expressed surprise at the fuss made over him at that time. He said he didn't consider his activity at his age unusual. His wife Mildred died in 1965.Cavanah was a native of Christian County, Ky., where he noted, "I was raised in a rebel family." He came to Evansville in 1918.
Surviving is a son, Andrew Wallace Cavanah of 601 N. Sonntag; a sister, Mrs. Maude Frederick of Providence, Ky., and a niece, Mrs. Rosie Pleasant of Earlington, Ky.

Entered Into Eternal Rest Wednesday, May 25, 1965MRS. NANCY MILDRED CAVANAH, an Evansville resident for 48 years, died at Welborn Baptist Hospital yesterday noon. She was 91.
Mrs. Cavanah, a native of Christian County, Ky., had been ill the past six weeks, her family said. She lived at 1818 Hollywood.
Mrs. Cavanah was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church.
She and her husband, Leander H. Cavanah, had been married 63 years.
Surviving besides the husband are a son, Andrew, and a sister, Mrs. Jodie Kistner, both of Evansville.
Friends may call at Boone Funeral Home after six tonight.
Funeral will be at the funeral home Saturday at 9 a.m. The Rev. Rae Bartle will officiate. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Died Wednesday 24 May 1944 at his home.
Retired farmer, member of Kelly Baptist Church.
Survivors: two children from marriage to his first wife, Mrs. Laura Simpson Cavanah, they are Bradley Cavanah and Mrs. Estella West of Lexington. Survivors from his second marriage to Mrs. Alice Cavanah are Ernest Cavanah of Ocean Springs, Miss., Herman Cavanah of Christian Co. and Pvt. William Cavanah of Ft. Dix, N.J. His third wife, Mrs. Dora Knight Cavanah and two children, Mrs. Raymonds Jackson of Ocean Springs, Miss. and Mrs. Leslie Wolfe, also survive; two stepchildren, Douglas and Richard Knight; a sister, Mrs. Cora Jackson; five brothers, Thompson, Johnnie, Dolmer, Franklin and Otho Cavanah all of Christian Co.
Services: Wednesday 24 May 1944, burial not given.
