ELIZABETH S. CASTLEElizabeth Spears Castle, 82, Cox Mill Road,
died at 1:45 this morning, March 6, 2000, at
Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First
United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Thomas
W. Eblen officiating. Burial will be in Riverside
Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m.
Tuesday at Hughart and Beard Funeral Home,
Hopkinsville.A native of Hopkinsville, she was born Oct. 4,
1917, the daughter of the late Dr. D. Mode Spears
and Lucy Wilson Spears. She was a retired
librarian at Eastern Kentucky University and later
served as librarian at the First United Methodist
Church. She was a member of the Hopkinsville
Shakespeare Club and the Church Hill Grange and
was a member of the First United Methodist
Church.Survivors include her husband, retired Army Col.
Shirley M. Castle; four sons, retired Air Force Col.
Richard S. Castle, Farmington, N. Mex., Army Col.
James M. Castle, Camp Humphries, S. Korea,
Shane W. Castle, Boulder, Colo., Dr. Marc D.
Castle, Hopkinsville; six grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.Memorials may be made to the Campus Crusade
for Christ or the Marie Croft Sunday school class
scholarship fund.
