Cadiz, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 4,
2000, at Saint Thomas Hospital, Nashville, Tenn.,
of natural causes.A memorial service will be held at a later date
with Goodwin Funeral Home in charge of
arrangements.A native of Louisville, she was born July 20, 1930,
the daughter of Lula Mae Case Coombs Mach,
Everett, Wash., and the late Orville Coombs. She
was a homemaker.In addition to her mother, survivors include her
husband, Orlynn Levon Carter; three daughters,
Marsha Carter, Louisville, Mrs. Jim (Deborah)
Vaughn, Patoka, Ind., Mrs. Rusty (Linda) Sturgeon,
Depauw, Ind.; a brother, Orville J. Coombs,
Snohomish, Wash.; two sisters, Delores Johnson
and Nancy Hanning, both of Everett, Wash.; five
grandchildren, including Russell Sturgeon, who
made his home with her and three
great-grandchildren.

Luree Bowman Carter, 81, Tompkinsville, died Saturday at the Monroe County Medical Center, Tompkinsville, following a log illness.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Tompkinsville, with the Revs. Steve James and Gary Emberton officiating. Burial will be in Skagg Creek Cemetery. She is survived locally by two sone, Daniel Denton and Jack Douglas Carter, both of Hopkinsville.
PEGGY JOYCE CANNON CARTERPeggy Joyce Cannon Carter, 51, Middle Street, Riverbend Mobile Home Park, died Saturday morning at her home following a long illness
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lamb Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Dale Combs officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
A native of Evansville, Ind., she was born July 4, 1946, the daughter of Florence Mayton Maxwell, Hopkinsville, and the late Frank Carter. She was a sewing Machine Operator at Flynn Enterprises.
Survivors include two sons Troy and Raymond Cannon, both of Hopkinsville; two daughters, Sandra Adams and Treassa Robertson, both of Hopkinsville, a brother, Mike Maxwell, Hopkinsville; a sister, Kathy Campbell, Hopkinsville and 11 grandchildren

Prominent Pembroke Planter Expires After Few Hours Illness
Mr. William B. Carter, a prominent young farmer of the Pembroke neighborhood, and oldest son of Mr. A. L. Carter, died suddenly at his home Saturday morninbg. He has not been in very good health for about a year and was taken very ill Friday night, dying in a few hours. Mr. Carter was a very successful farmer and was exceedingly popular with all. He had been a member of the Presbyterian church for several years. He leaves a wife and one child about two years old. Funeral services were held at his late residence yesterday morning by Dr. I. M. Gill, of Elkton, and the interment took place in Hopewell Cemetery in the afternoon.
