MR JOHN BUCKNER
WILLIE BUCKNER
In Memoriam
Died, on Saturday, Feb 19th, Henry Buckner, colored, in the 21st year of his age.
Henry Buckner, son of Moses Buckner, was of unblemished African descent, and was a young man worthy of imitation by both white and black. He was honest in the full sense of the word, faithful to any contract and he may have made, respectful and obedient to his parents and polite to all. The community at large and his race particularly have suffered a loss in his death and his family have the sincere sympathy of a neighborhood in which they are highly respected over the sad, sad loss they have sustained.

MR JOHN BUCKNERChristian Co 1878
It is our sad duty to chronicle the death of one of our oldest and most respected citizens. MR. JOHN BUCKNER departed this life at the residence of E.M. BUCKNER, Esq. on the 1st of march, in his 86th years.
A large concourse of people attended his funeral on Sunday morning from the Baptist church, of which had been a member since 1843. DR. KEEN preached an appropriate and impressive sermon, after which the body was interred in the City Cemetery by the hands of the brethren of the mystic tie with the honors of Masonry.
