CHESTER A. BROWDER
A 21-year-old Henderson man died Friday from gunshot wounds he suffered in what police have determined was an accidental shooting early Thursday.
CHESTER A BROWDER died at 9:55 a.m. Friday at Community Methodist Hospital from wounds he received when he was shot in the abdomen with a .41 Magum at the home of a friend, Steven K. Long, 1947 Powell St.
The incident was first reported to police as an assault, but was water determined by police investigations that Long accidentally shot Browder. Long and Browder were described as close friends by police.
Long and two women who were present at the shooting were charged with filing a false report. Shannon Barr, 20, and Cindy L. Brooks, 20, remained in the Henderson County jail Friday in lieu of $2, 500 bond each. Both women had been staying in local hotels. Long has been released on bond.
Browder is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Browder, 1901 Powell St.; three sisters, Mary Cartright of Corydon, Sandra Browder and Lola Browder, both of Henderson; two brothers, Joseph Browader jr. of Henderson County and Jason Browder of Henderson; and his grandparents Mrs. Rody Browder of Henderson and Chester Willingham of Henderson County.
Chester Browder was the nephew of Henderson Police Chief Homer Browder.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tapp Funeral Home with the Rev. David Overman Presiding. Burial will be at Fairmont Cemetery.

CLAUDE B. BROWDER

Claude B. Browder 78, of 27 Venter Circle died at 6:15 a.m. Sunday at Community Methodist Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Ida; one daughter, Nettie Browder of Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.; two sons, Walter Browder of Sharon, Tenn., and Claude Browder Jr., of Norridge, Ill.; one sister, Sarah Cox of St. Petersburg, Fla.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Tapp Funeral Home with the Rev. Leo Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Roger Biggs, Michael Bowder, Frank Wawrzyniec, Richard Cox, Jess Goodsey and Dennis Bowder.
Friends may call at the funeral home anytime.
