CADIZ, Ky. -- Geraldine Holder Boren, 60,
Cadiz, died at 11 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2001,
at her home of natural causes.Services were to be at 2 this afternoon at Goodwin
Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Phil Hill
officiating. Burial was to be in Boren Cemetery,
Trigg County.A native of Springfield, she was born Aug. 7,
1940, the daughter of the late Tom Perkins and
Annie Retha McCarter Holder. She was a retired
waitress and was a member of the New Hope
Baptist church.Survivors include her husband, O'Neal Boren; a
son, Lloyd Boren, Cadiz; a daughter, Mrs. Mike
(Janet) Calhoun, Hopkinsville; seven brothers,
Ronald Holder, Hopkinsville, Billy Holder, Logan
County, Tom Holder Jr., Bryant, Edward, Wilber
and Jerry Holder, all of Cadiz; five sisters,
Elizabeth Wright, Hopkinsville, Dorothy Miller
and Patsy Edmonson, both of Cadiz, Sue Merrick,
Evansville, Ind., Marie Hibbs, Greenville; and five
grandchildren.

Sixty - One Year Old Resident Dies in South
Section of County.
On May the 9th 1940, the death angel visited the home of Mr W.H. BOREN and family and took from them their loving wife
and mother.
Mrs BOREN was Rose Lee HARGROVE before her marriage to W.H. BOREN in 1896. Her age is 61 year 8 months and four days. Born to this union were nine children, six boys and three girls.
Surviving are: husband, W.H. Boren, children: Lucian, Fred, Cullen, Jody, Stanley and Frank Boren and Mary Lois Joiner and Mrs Harry Armstrong, Elsie Lois died in infancy. There are 15 grandchildren fourteen of whom survive. Surviving brothers and sisters are: Henry Hargrove, Frank Hargrove, Arthur Hargrove, LaFayette, Ky and Almont Hargrove, Chicago, Ill., Mr Bill Bracey, Mrs Harney Hancock, LaFayette, Ky., Mrs W.F. Bracey, Pembroke and Mrs W.M. Castil Bumpus Mills, Tenn.
To know her was to love her. She was always trying to help some one in time of need. She professed faith in Christ 45 years ago. She was a member of Rock Front Baptist Church. She will be missed in her Church as well as in the home.
The funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock, conducted by J.W. Outland and quartet. The burial was directed by A.K. Goodwin, Cadiz, Ky. The remains
were laid to rest at the Boren Grave Yard. The pall bearers were the nephew Claudie Bracey, Homer HancoCk, Charles
Hargrove and Ed Hancock.
