BEARD
Katie A. Beard, 82, West Palm Beach, Fla.,
formerly of Pembroke, died Saturday, Feb. 26,
2000, at Columbia Hospital, West Palm Beach, of
natural causes.Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Edgefield
Baptist Church with W.L. Baker officiating. Burial
will be in Pembroke Cemetery. Visitation will be
from 1 this afternoon until 7 tonight at Gamble
Funeral Home.A native of Trenton, she was born Sept. 23, 1917,
the daughter of the late Henry and Ollie Cager
Beard. She was a retired Civil Service employee
from Fort Campbell and was a member of the
Edgefield Baptist Church.Survivors include a daughter, Marethia Ann
Williams, West Palm Beach; two brothers, Daniel
Beard and Lorenzo Beard, both of Kokomo, Ind.;
three sisters, Maddie Welch, Pembroke, Juanita
Durham and Denise Terry, both of Kokomo; and
two grandchildren.
