Haydon Earl Gilkey, 68, of Lowell, In., and formerly of Princeton, Caldwell Co., Ky., died Saturday, Jan 2, 1999 at 4 p.m. at St. Anthony Hospital in Crown Point, In.

Born in 1930 in Caldwell Co., Ky. a son of the late Roy and Elsie Gilkey, he was a veteran of the Korean War and Purple Heart recipient, member of the Lowell Baptist Church, and was a retired employee of Inland Steel in Indiana.

Survivors include his wife, Ardell Garner of Lowell, Ind.; two daughters, Terri Fox of Crown Point, Ind., and L. Ann Garrison of Indianapolis, In.; three grandchildren, Jessica Fox, Liam Garrison and Andrea Garrison;

a sister Wilma Spinner of Chester Ill.; two brothers, Gary Gilkey of Camallia, Ga., and Kenneth Gilkey of Newburgh, Ind., and several nieces nephews and cousins.

Funeral services Thursday, Jan. 7, at 11 a.m. at Sheets Funeral Home, Lowell, Ind., with the Rev. Don Benton and Rev. Dave Nykamp officiating.
Burial will follow in Orchard Grove Cemetery in Lowell, Ind.
