James Feliz Boyd was born August 12, 1944 in Caldwell
County, Kentucky to the late Melvin and Genevithe (Calvert) Boyd.
He departed this life on January 12, 2009 at the age of 66. He
professed a hope in Christ at a very early age and united with
Shepard Street Baptist Church under the pastorage of the Rev. J. T. Lander.
Felix was employed at Grinell as a steel worker.... He was a
avid hunter, fisherman, and all around sportsman. A standout
for the Dotson Bearcats and the Caldwell County Tigers, Felix,
was a pitcher, 3rd baseman and a shortstop for the Sundodgers
for several years.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters,
Mary Louise Thompson and Viola B. Holland, two brothers,
Melvin and Willard Boyd. Those remaining to cherish his
memories are son Byron Boyd and Quentin (Heidi) Boyd both of
Princeton, Ky., three grandsons, Akili Boyd, Octavian Boyd, Aisha
Boyd,
Kendall Boyd, two brothers, Claude and Stewart (Adrrian) Boyd of Princeton,
Aunt Mary Helen Rice of Dayton, Ohio,
special cousin, Drew Garnett of Paducah,
Kentucky, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
