He was born January 30, 1758 in Bertie County, North Carolina and was the son of John and Ann Freeman
He enlisted in Dobbs County, North Carolina, August 1, 1781 and served one year as private and sergeant in Captain Thomas Armstrong's
Company in Colonel Archibald - - tle's North Carolina Regiment.
He was allowed pension on his application executed June 24, 1818, at which time he was living in Caldwell Co., Ky.
He died November 26, 1821, in Livingston Co., Ky.
